Position Overview

As a Manufacturing Operator Intern, you will support the production of roasted, ground coffee by operating, monitoring, and maintaining equipment across various stages of the manufacturing process. You'll gain hands-on experience with high-speed machinery, quality checks, and preventative maintenance, all while ensuring product quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production processes from green coffee intake to delivery of finished product to packaging.
  • Learn to operate roasting, grinding, and transfer equipment in accordance with safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct regular cleaning procedures on all assigned equipment based on standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues to maintain optimal operating conditions and product consistency.
  • Perform routine quality checks, including monitoring moisture levels and product color.
  • Conduct basic preventative maintenance tasks (e.g., greasing) and maintain accurate maintenance logs and Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS) documentation.
  • Operate high-speed packaging machinery to meet quality and production targets.
  • Support packaging line changeovers, mechanical adjustments, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Collect and record production data, machine downtime, and quality checks throughout the shift.
  • Submit daily production reports and input data into SAP systems using a computer.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with machinery repairs as needed.
  • May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Current enrollment in an advanced technical degree or university.
  • 1-2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. •
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to operate electric pallet jack, forklift, hoist, and various hand and power tools.
  • Familiar with industrial and mechanical terminology.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
