Skate Park/Teen Lead (Personal Services)

Position Summary:
Create a safe, culturally appropriate and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies, practices and procedures at THE MUK skate park.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Supervise the participants and all activities happening at THE MUKTeach group classes or lessons to those enrolled in programMaintain effective relationships with participants, members, and staffDesign and implement culturally responsive lessons or activities for participantsMaintain required program recordsMaintain program site and equipmentPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum age 18Skate or Scooter experience and ability to navigate and land tricks at the parkStrong interpersonal and problem solving skillsAbility to coach and lead staffBasic computer skills/knowledge requiredFluency in second language desired

Physical Demands:
Ability to lead and participate in a range of activities in outdoor settings. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to safely supervise program activities. While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
