A little about our position.....
Our newest gourmet location in Sayville, NY is actively seeking a FT Catering Manager for its in-store Catering Team. Our Catering Managers are responsible for supervising the department team and ensuring a successful catering operation.

Responsibilities
Directs and supervises catering logistics and operations.Receives orders from customers via in person or phone conversation, confirming all food items are double checked for accuracy.Ensures that all proposals, contacts, menus, correspondence and reports are completed according to Uncle Giuseppes procedures.Event planning and menu design.Booking outside vendors for items such as equipment rentals, wait staff and other resources needed for each event.Will be responsible for processing online orders.Ensuring payments are received.Coordinate pick-up and delivery schedule.Assist catering manager with clerical needs.Assist in setting up and managing in store demonstrations.Will assist with deliveries of catered ordered and events as needed.Respond to customer complaints immediately or in a timely fashion.Develop relationships with customers.Process weekly gratuities.Other duties and functions as assigned.

Requirements
HS Diploma or equivalent.A minimum of 3-4 years of experience working in a management position in catering, event planning or event management.Must be proficient with relevant computer programs and operations including MS Office Suite.Must be familiar with food and beverage cost controls.Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure.Able to multi-task in a very fast paced environment and delegate tasks as needed.Highly motivated to learn and not afraid to make quick decisions.Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language.During the high season, extended hours, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Working Conditions
Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
