Metrologist (Engineering)



Job Summary

Responsible for evaluating, developing, executing and maintaining calibration and qualification procedures for laboratory equipment and instruments in accordance with cGMP and ISO 17025 regulations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, write, and execute qualification protocols and reports (IQ, OQ, PQ) for routine laboratory equipment

  • Execute calibrations and preventative maintenance activities on routine and specialized laboratory equipment following written and approved procedures. Initiate out of calibration events as required. Create certificates of calibration.

  • Review calibration and preventative maintenance data. Evaluate out of calibration events for potential trends and root cause determination. Support out of calibration investigation and corrective and prevent actions activities as directed by senior team members.

  • Coordinate approved vendor calibrations and maintenance activities both externally and on-site.

  • Ability to work both as part of a team and independently. Provide guidance and training to junior team members.

  • Write and review SOPs and training procedures.

  • At the direction of management, participate in laboratory quality initiatives to maintain and improve compliance, such as suggest and implement improvements, and create and revise applicable procedures.

  • Ensure all service records and documentation are complete, recorded in a timely manner and accurately reflect activities and repairs performed.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Engineering with 2 years of calibration/metrology experience in a regulated environment OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience within a regulated environment.

  • Capable of standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Proficient with Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with qualifying HPLCs, GCs, stability chambers, incubators, and balances.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$79,560.00 - $115,440.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
