Manufacturing Equipment Engineer (E2/Sr) (Finance)

Senior Level:

You are the engineer Illumina is looking for. In your future role at the Wisconsin site of the global leader in genetic sequencing, you will be one of a group of equipment engineers providing maintenance and technical support for the equipment and systems producing the enzymes that fuel Illumina's sequencing and array-based solutions for analysis of genetic variation and function, in realms from cancer research to agriculture. You will be part of a self-directed and diverse team that is responsible for all aspects of equipment maintenance (including corrective, preventative, and predictive) with the primary focus being on fermentation vessels. You will also regularly work with other teams and vendors in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities

  • Works with diverse cross functional teams and third-party vendors to investigate, diagnose, repair, and document issues and breakdowns of equipment and systems including fermentation vessels, chromatography instruments, cold storage, centrifuges, and analytical equipment.
  • Main point of contact for end users and vendors for the maintenance and care of the fermentation vessels.
  • Works with diverse cross functional teams on projects to improve and develop processes/equipment using lean manufacturing and 6 Sigma methodologies
  • Provides analysis and recommendations for risk mitigation and process efficiencies for maintenance plans and activities
  • Ability to write, review, and manage equipment protocols, reports, and work instructions with a detailed orientated approach
  • Support of internal processes to ensure regulatory compliance is maintained
  • Generation of specifications and other engineering documents as used for equipment design and qualification
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams locally, nationally, and internationally to exchange best practices, develop, or align processes, and complete projects
  • Mentors supporting engineers on technical skills in one's areas of expertise

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work on diverse teams and learn quickly.
  • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training/experience
  • 5+ years relevant engineering/equipment maintenance experience.

The estimated base salary range for the Manufacturing Equipment Engineer (E2/Sr) role based in the United States of America is: $89,400 - $134,000. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
