Job Description
The Vice President, SAP & Enterprise Applications at Samsonite leads the strategy, design, and management of enterprise applications that span across multiple markets. Responsibilities include aligning technology with business goals, overseeing implementations and maintenance of systems like SAP, Oracle Fusion HCM, Concur, Hyperion, BI, and managing global teams to ensure applications support operational efficiency and compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the global strategy for SAP and enterprise applications aligned with Samsonite's goals and vision. Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and translate business needs into technological solutions.
  • Manage overall SAP ecosystem for Samsonite
  • Oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of applications, including SAP, HR IS, Concur, Hyperion, Salesforce, and other digital and business-critical systems. Ensure all applications are integrated and support seamless data flow across the organization.
  • Partner with the CIO and lead SAP S/4 HANA transformation journey for the company
  • Partner with business leaders, regional IT leadership to identify opportunities for SAP S/4 HANA to drive process improvements, elevate efficiency, and spark innovation across the company.
  • Lead and mentor a talented team of SAP professionals, nurturing a high-performance culture that fosters collaboration, creativity, and results.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SAP vendors and industry partners, staying informed on trends, product updates, and best practices to keep the company at the forefront of technological advancements.
  • Oversee and define corporate reporting and global BI application suite and landscape
  • Support digital applications and associated ecosystem across the globe providing global standards and technical know-how
  • Oversee the ongoing management and optimization of other enterprise application suite, including Oracle Fusion and other corporate and financial systems, ensuring their continued success and value.
  • Ensure that all enterprise applications adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security best practices, while proactively managing risks associated with application operations.
  • Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams to ensure applications meet regulatory and security standards.
  • Ensure stability of Enterprise applications for daily operations and ensure key partner accountability in the management of the applications.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance application performance and user experience.
  • Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise application projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and application effectiveness. Engage with internal stakeholders and business units to gather requirements and ensure applications meet user needs.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in SAP focused in either Order to cash, Procure to pay, Finance & Controlling modules. In-depth understanding of SAP S/4, ECC.
  • 15+ years of experience in enterprise applications management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in rolling out S/4 fashion and managing retail systems will be a big plus.
  • Experience rolling out corporate systems such as SharePoint, Concur and Hyperion.
  • Experience managing global teams and relationship building with international businesses.
  • Experience with HR and Finance processes
  • Proficiency in data analysis, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and their applications in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies for overseeing development projects.
  • Expertise in project management tools and techniques to manage application development and enhancement projects effectively.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations impacting business applications and ensuring applications meet compliance standards.
  • Understanding security protocols, data protection measures, and best practices to safeguard applications against threats.
  • Familiarity with UX principles ensuring applications are user-friendly and meet business needs effectively.
  • Knowledge of system architecture principles to design scalable and resilient application ecosystems.
  • Experience in managing relationships with software vendors, including negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and lead change initiatives effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and implement an appropriate business-aligned strategic architecture vision for global applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex issues, program, and business interest-related issues.
  • Well-developed, executive-level critical thinking and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
