VP Commercial Strategy Insights & Analytics (Finance)



Job Overview:

The Vice President of Commercial Data Enablement & Product Management will lead the strategy, development, and delivery of data tools, platforms, and digital products that empower the Commercial organization-especially Inside and Outside Sales teams. This executive will be responsible for uniting data strategy, product management, and sales enablement to deliver scalable, insight-driven capabilities that drive revenue growth and customer value.

As a key member of the Commercial leadership team, the VP will work across business and technology functions to ensure Salesforce, analytics platforms, and other sales enablement tools are optimized and adopted. They will also lead product lifecycle management for commercial data tools-from ideation to roadmap planning, development, and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities

• Define and execute the data enablement and digital product vision for the Commercial organization, aligned with sales growth and customer success objectives.

• Champion the use of data, insights, and platform tools to enhance sales team productivity, account penetration, and customer engagement.

• Serve as a key liaison between Commercial, Data & Analytics, IT, and Executive Leadership.

• Lead product management for commercial data tools, including Salesforce and adjacent applications-owning roadmap, prioritization, user stories, backlog, and go-to-market strategy.

• Build and manage a product organization responsible for designing intuitive, scalable, and high-impact tools that meet the needs of sales and commercial stakeholders.

• Drive user research, feedback loops, and usage analytics to continuously enhance tool effectiveness and adoption.

• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure agile product development and successful deployment of new capabilities.

• Enable Sales teams with actionable data, tools, and insights to drive performance, pipeline health, territory planning, pricing execution, and strategic account growth.

• Oversee the design and delivery of dashboards, KPIs, and decision-support tools that make data accessible and operational.

• Ensure alignment of product features with sales motions and customer value propositions.

• Build and lead a high-performing team of product managers, data strategists, and enablement professionals.

• Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-centric design.

• Develop internal product and data champions across the Commercial organization.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Education/ Certifications:

• A master's degree is strongly preferred.

Experience:

• 15+ years of progressive experience in commercial data enablement, sales operations, or product management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Proven experience owning product lifecycle management (preferably for internal data or sales tools).

• Deep understanding of Salesforce and other CRM, sales enablement, or business intelligence platforms.

• Strong business acumen and the ability to translate business needs into scalable technology and data solutions.

• Demonstrated success in building cross-functional teams and leading digital transformation initiatives.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

• Significant experience in the multiple priority functions of merchandising, sales, development, financial, retail operations or logistics

• Understanding and knowledge of company products

• Working knowledge of sales forecasting, programs, promotions and related techniques

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Working knowledge of margin and company profitability

• Experience recruiting, managing, retaining and developing current and future leaders in the organization

• Experience participating in or leading a significant change initiative (e.g., standardization or consolidation project, key region initiative, acquisition, merger, startup) and managing across disciplines, functions or other organizational boundaries

• Strong leadership and management skills.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

• Ability to interact at all levels of business

• Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and teams

• Demonstrated ability to drive new business and close sales

• Strong collaborative, innovative, leading change, strategic skills and commitment to company vision

• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:

Remote Role:

• This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.

Travel (minor):

• This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.

• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.

• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal.
