Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-driven, systems-savvy Project Manager to support MODE Global's LTL strategy by owning the integration, maintenance, and enhancement of our LTL system connections and ensuring ongoing compliance with evolving industry standards. This fully remote role will serve as the nexus between technology, operations, and compliance, supporting both strategic initiatives and day-to-day execution across MODE's agent network and carrier ecosystem.
This highly visible role is ideal for a logistics professional with hands-on LTL system experience, exceptional communication skills, and a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate will combine deep transportation knowledge with technical fluency to help MODE stay ahead of compliance requirements, streamline system touchpoints, and improve scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Systems & Technology Management
• Oversee health, accuracy, and performance of all LTL system connections, including EDI, API, and rating tools.
• Partner with IT, product, and carrier teams to ensure timely setup and successful implementation of new carriers, agents, and customer profiles.
• Own enhancement requests, bug tracking, and testing validation for TMS and reporting platforms to improve user experience and performance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot carrier and agent experiences with shipment visibility, document transmission, invoice feeds, and error resolution.
Compliance & Risk Mitigation
• Stay abreast of NMFTA, FMCSA, and industry compliance changes that affect LTL freight classification, documentation, and invoicing.
• Proactively assess risks across the LTL system landscape and implement controls to prevent downstream financial or operational impact.
• Standardize SOPs across the agent network to ensure consistent usage of proper BOL formats, item specs, and dimensional data.
Operational Coordination
• Act as a primary liaison between LTL operations, technology, and agent offices for all system-related concerns.
• Host regular status updates and implementation reviews for high-visibility initiatives and system rollouts.
• Partner with the Director of LTL and Business Development to support scalable, future-ready solutions for agent and carrier enablement.
Project Management & Strategic Execution
• Lead cross-functional projects from ideation through execution, including compliance audits, platform upgrades, and partner integrations.
• Identify opportunities for automation, self-service tools, and performance dashboards to streamline operations and decision-making.
• Track and report key project milestones, system KPIs, and continuous improvement outcomes to senior leadership.
Qualifications
• 5-7+ years of experience in the LTL or broader transportation/logistics industry, with a focus on systems, technology, or operations.
• Proven experience with TMS platforms, EDI/API integration, and carrier onboarding/configuration.
• Familiarity with NMFC freight classification, BOL/Invoice compliance, and carrier contract alignment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; Excel, SQL or reporting tools (preferred).
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to translate between technical and operational stakeholders.
