Compliance Testing Assistant (Finance)
Assist in executing consumer compliance testing and monitoring activities in accordance with the bank's compliance testing plan.
Gather and review documentation to support compliance testing, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Conduct preliminary assessments of policies, procedures and processes to identify potential compliance risks.
Perform transactional testing and sample reviews to assess compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations.
Document testing results, observations, and potential findings in a clear and organized manner.
Assist in preparing compliance testing reports, summarizing findings and remediation efforts.
Track and follow-up on corrective action plans to ensure timely resolution of compliance issues.
Maintain organized records of testing workpapers, results, and supporting documentation.
Research regulatory requirements and assist in identifying applicable laws and regulations for testing.
Collaborate with the Compliance Officer to refine testing methodologies and improve efficiency.
Assist in the development of testing scripts, checklists, and reporting templates.
Communicate potential issues or concerns to the Compliance Officer for further evaluation.
Participate in compliance-related training sessions to stay informed on regulatory changes.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the compliance testing function.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or certification in business, finance, legal studies, or a related field preferred.
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is a plus, but not required.
1-2 years of experience in banking, compliance, internal audit, or quality control preferred. Lending or deposit-related experience is a plus.
Foundational knowledge or Federal consumer protection regulations (e.g., Truth-in-Lending Act, ECOA, EFTA, FCRA, RESPA, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
Willingness to learn and grow within a regulatory compliance environment
