Associate Professor (Finance)



Position Description:

The Department of Behavioral Health Science and Practice (BHSP), College of Behavioral and
\n
Community Sciences (CBCS), University of South Florida (USF) invites applications from
\n
qualified candidates to fill one of two 9-month tenure-earning faculty positions, one at the rank
\n
of Assistant Professor and one open rank (i.e., Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor). Both are to be located on the USF Tampa campus and are not remote positions. Salary will be commensurate with rank. The successful candidate is expected to have, or to demonstrate the potential for, an independent program of research focused on behavioral health services, with a research focus in one or more of the following areas:

  • Mental health and substance use service access, utilization, policy, and financing
  • \n
  • Implementation science and behavioral health
  • \n
  • Technology in behavioral health (e.g., telehealth/eHealth, informatics)
  • \n
  • Research at the intersection of machine learning, natural language processing, predictive analytics
  • \n
  • Integration of behavioral and physical healthcare
  • \n
  • Behavioral health research methods and statistics
  • \n
  • Populations facing barriers to use of behavioral health services
  • \n
  • Prevention, health promotion, and early intervention in behavioral health
  • \n
  • Behavioral health issues within justice systems
  • \n
  • Global behavioral health
  • \n
  • Rural behavioral health
  • \n
  • Health communications in behavioral health
  • \n
  • Trauma-informed care
  • \n
  • Veteran and first-responder behavioral health

Behavioral health across the lifespanMinimum Qualifications:
\n
The successful candidate must hold a doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DrPH, DSW) by
\n
the time of faculty appointment.
\n

Preferred Qualifications:
\n
Strong publication record related to the foci of this position, demonstrated success or potential
\n
in obtaining external funding related to behavioral health services and policy research,
\n
excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a record of collaborative work with academic, community, and/or industry partners. Documented evidence of previous and/or current grant activity commensurate with rank is required of those applying for the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Evidence of grant potential is required of applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor. A strong background in research methods and/or statistics is desired, along with experience teaching at undergraduate or graduate levels. The successful candidate is expected to teach and be an active mentor within undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
