Certified Surgical First Assistant- CHI- CV Surgery (Finance)

Assists the surgeon in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions. Performs preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate proper patient care. Performs these functions under the direction and supervision of the surgeon, and in accordance with hospital policy and applicable laws and regulations.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting as a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), or a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), or Certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical Assistants as a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA). Current BLS certification required ACLS Certification required (must be obtained by the end of the month after 90 days of hire) Demonstrates good judgement in performing duties and conflict resolution. Skilled in suturing and saphenous vein harvesting. Basic analytical skills. Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
Minimum Education:
Associate's degree or completion of an accredited CSFA certificate program.
Minimum Experience:
Two years of experience as a CSFA or in a surgical/surgery environment.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently and/or up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
