Staff Software Product Marketing Manager - Global Software and Informatics - Genetic Disease (Remote Potential) (Finance)

Position Summary:

This position for Staff Product Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the global go-to-market strategy and planning for Illumina genetic disease software. The role includes product marketing for new software launches, as well as programs and campaigns supporting Illumina's on-market portfolio, including Emedgene for interpretation and reporting, DRAGEN for germline bioinformatic analyses, and Connected Analytics for pipeline management and data science.

The primary aim of this role is to drive adoption of the Illumina software and informatics portfolio, and to inspire enthusiastic evangelists while delighting customers throughout the buyer journey and customer lifecycle.

The individual will be highly collaborative and customer-centric with a global mindset, who can creatively lead cross-functional programs while building best-in-class marketing capabilities in established and emerging market segments. Ideal candidates will have genetic disease software expertise, have led cross-functional matrix teams successfully, and have a history of working constructively with various stakeholders, including key opinion leaders among researchers and clinicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to develop and implement marketing strategies for software and informatics product launches and lifecycle campaigns.
  • Develop and manage annual/quarterly marketing calendars to ensure consistent communication and strategic alignment with other departments and commercial objectives.
  • Develop compelling positioning that clearly distinguishes Illumina solutions and communicates the value of addressing customer pain points, value drivers, and economic drivers.
  • Translate complex genomic analysis workflows into compelling marketing narratives and user benefits.
  • Engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs), researchers, and clinicians to gather feedback and validate product-market fit.
  • Manage the creation and updating of technical marketing content such as white papers, webinars, case studies, and application notes that resonate with scientific audiences.
  • Drive demand generation (lead gen) campaigns across digital channels, conferences, and partner networks.
  • Enable sales and field application teams with training, competitive battlecards, and customer-facing collateral.
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research to understand customer needs, competitor positioning, and emerging trends.
  • Partner with broader Illumina marketing teams to guide regional and segment-specific marketing campaigns.
  • Interface with external partners to develop and execute co-marketing programs.

Experience/Education:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in life sciences; or 6 years and master's degree; or 3 years and PhD.
  • Previous success leading cross-functional teams with a proven track-record of working constructively with sales/support personnel and customers
  • Technical knowledge of informatics, next-generation sequencing and molecular biology is highly desired; experience selling, supporting, or marketing genomic analysis software preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to tie detailed analyses to larger strategy and make data driven decisions.

The estimated base salary range for the Staff Software Product Marketing Manager - Global Software and Informatics - Genetic Disease (Remote Potential) role based in the United States of America is: $126,800 - $190,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
