Environmental Coordinator (Engineering)

Oversee, direct and coordinate the Industrial Pre-treatment, Oil and Grease, Risk Management Programs and Watershed Protection of the Water System by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

Coordinates, plan and perform activities supporting the utility's pretreatment, grease trap/interceptor, sampling, and Risk Management programs.
Plan, supervise, coordinate, prioritize, and review industrial pretreatment, oil and grease, and Risk Management program assignments. Ensure specific assigned objectives are met to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations by industrial/commercial facilities and the City of Conway's Wastewater System.
Establish work procedures and practices for commercial/industrial, grease trap/interceptor trap sampling, and Risk Management programs, including educating and training employees associated with these programs on the proper procedures and practices.
Supervise and coordinate the inspection and collection of samples for the industrial pretreatment and the oil and grease programs.
Supervise performance of job tasks and evaluate job performance, reporting to the Manager, Water Systems. Supervise and coordinate the inspection and collection of samples for the industrial pretreatment and the oil and grease programs.
Prepare and issue industrial/commercial user discharge permits to the City of Conway's Wastewater System.
Interpret/explain/enforce Federal, State, and Local procedures for monitoring regulations and compliance.
Ensure that employees are educated and trained on Conway Corporation Risk Management requirements, including wearing of PPE, proper use of handling equipment associated with the Risk Management program, and the proper reporting requirements.
Develop and implement strategies for protecting and improving the health of Brewer Lake Watershed. Work to balance ecological needs with human demands, focusing on water quality, quantity and overall ecosystem health. Coordinate with stakeholders, develop and oversee management plans, conduct monitoring and ensure regulatory compliance.
Research and identify grant opportunities, develop proposals, manage awarded grants and build relationships with funders and stakeholders.
