Local Sales Manager, KNXV (Sales)



Do you have what it takes to lead a dynamic sales team in one of America's most vibrant markets? KNXV, the ABC affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a strategic and motivational Local Sales Manager to guide our sales team toward growth and success. In this role, you'll empower local businesses to achieve their goals through innovative multi-platform advertising solutions including OTT video, search strategies, social media, digital display, email targeting, and broadcast television. As part of the E.W. Scripps family, you'll work in a collaborative environment where creativity and results drive everything we do.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales and other departments to accomplish station objectives
  • Organize, direct, and manage the performance of a team of local sales Account Executives
  • Negotiate ratings, rates, and budgets to maximize revenue
  • Develop new business by leveraging all station platforms including broadcast, digital, and mobile
  • Coach Account Executives on the Scripps Sales Process (SSP) and provide field support
  • Utilize available resources and tools to build effective sales strategies
  • Train, develop, and motivate the local sales team to achieve revenue goals
  • Foster career growth within your team to build a talent pipeline for future management roles
  • Maintain positive relationships with outside vendors
  • Work with traffic systems and personnel to ensure efficient management of airtime inventory
  • Oversee accounts receivable and credit policies
  • Develop strategic pricing and packaging to meet both client and station needs
  • Stay knowledgeable about competing stations and advertising mediums to position our station effectively
  • Forecast sales revenue and manage department expenses to achieve financial goals

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Generally, 7+ years of proven success in media sales
  • Experience in agency and direct strategic account management, broadcast inventory, and digital/video capabilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and working knowledge of Google Office and virtual conferencing platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typical office and client sites
  • May require some travel
  • Driving required. Valid Driver's License, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company-required insurance limits
