Position Overview and Impact

We are seeking a dynamic, creative, results-focused individual to enhance branding, increase company awareness, and act as company spokesperson for Tilcon NY Inc. This person will be responsible for assisting in our Strategic Recruitment Programs, Improving our Engagement with Employees and Enhancing our Outreach Initiatives within our local communities. This employee will have the opportunity to work with people in all areas of our business and beyond.

Core Responsibilities

  • Monitor social media for engagement, customer service and recruiting opportunities, as well as engage in social media conversations on behalf of the organization.
  • Design and develop presentations and other communications tools for use by senior management.
  • Assist in our recruitment process by collaborating on our various strategic recruitment programs and initiatives.
  • Capture studio-quality photographs and videos. Edit content and build a library of videos focused on safety, recruiting, branding and marketing.
  • Generate written communications, announcements, articles, flyers, etc. for all lines of business.
  • Coordinate company submissions for national and regional recognition.
  • Look for new way to continually improve communication strategy.
  • Will oversee the company newsletter and website and will work in conjunction with the CRH Communications team.
  • Participate and speak at local and regional events, charities and community outreach programs to increase awareness of the organization.
  • Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Tilcon employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations field or other related field.
  • Experience writing/publishing a company newsletter and utilizing all social media platforms.
  • Advanced computer skills including email, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and internet based software programs.
  • Proficiency with Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro.
  • Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Social Media management experience.
  • Experience with Canon DSLR Cameras.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro (and/or Final Cut Pro).
  • Experience in public speaking and preparing related materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with employees and customers.
  • Possess solid organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work as well as overnights.
  • The willingness to travel to other CRH locations as needed.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Ability to communicate sufficiently to be able to convey and exchange ideas, and to give and receive detailed verbal instructions.
  • Ability to perform multi-tasks in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and set priorities.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

  • 2+ years work experience in a communications/public relations role.

This job will require both office work and field work. The noise level in the work environment in the office is usually quiet. This employee is expected to continuously work with others.
