Transportation Administrator (Transportation)



JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Maintain accurate records including permits, receipts, maintenance logs, and driver documentation

·       Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and internal company policies

·       Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and clients to resolve issues

·       Address customer inquiries and complaints related to transportation services

·       Coordinate with field personnel, management, and third parties to resolve invoice discrepancies identified by Targa's Downstream accounting group

·       Utilize transport management software to track shipments and vehicle movements as needed

·       Manage driver and field personnel schedules in both Chorus and Outlook

·       Work with the dispatch team to ensure timely and accurate data entry for drivers and carriers in Chorus, supporting monthly accounting close

·       Process driver payments and maintain expense records

·       Manage the transport payables process, including initial review and input of transport invoices into Chorus

·       Review discrepancies and resolve invoice issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders

·       Prepare and present transportation performance reports to management as needed

·       Perform additional administrative and operational tasks as required to support the transport team

·       Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

·       High School Diploma or GED

·       2+ years of experience in transportation or logistics administration

·       Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transport compliance

·       Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office Suite

·       Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

·       Strong problem-solving abilities

·       Adept at using Microsoft Excel; comfortable with creating new spreadsheets and familiar with pivot tables

·       Proficient with all other Microsoft applications including word, power point and outlook

·       Able to work independently or as part of a team

·       Able to multi-task and juggle competing priorities in a fast paced, sometimes intense work environment

·       Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting at all levels of the organization

·       Regular and reliable attendance

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Bachelor's Degree (Business, Accounting or Economics)

·       Experience with Chorus Logistics or Oracle
