Job Description:

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a high performing and experienced Senior Program Manager to join the Studio IT PMO team. In this role, you will work with Blizzard IT leadership to support cross-organization projects helping teams to adopt Azure as one of their primary clouds for the business. The focus will be on strategic organization of development activities, process and policy enhancements, and normalizing operations across various IT disciplines while embracing the overarching strategy for IT and Blizzard as a whole.

We are looking for a seasoned program manager with a diverse program management skillset who is comfortable adapting their style depending on the situation at hand. You should have a good understanding of infrastructure and cloud technologies, superb communication and relationship building skills, and an ability to adapt to shifting priorities. This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic initiatives for IT engineering teams while keeping stakeholders informed.
  • Facilitate communication with stakeholders and management teams to ensure expectations are managed correctly.
  • Identify the order of importance and urgency among individual projects, portfolios, and operational tasks to plan milestones, schedules, and resources.
  • Ensure that project goals, objectives, milestones, and deliverables are achieved on schedule and within budget.
  • Drive major decisions, identify and eliminate risks and blockers, and communicate program status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with resources, vendors, partners, colleagues, and leaders with fierce accountability for delivering on commitments and partner needs.
  • Work independently to deliver results with little or no supervision.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly with stakeholders of all levels by tailoring your message to the audience.
  • Demonstrate the value of partner engagement by knowing when to engage, who to engage, and how to engage while keeping inclusion and collaboration at the forefront of your approach.
  • Model self-awareness in personal interactions and read both verbal and non-verbal signs to influence without direct authority.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the organization by driving continuous improvement within designated program areas and IT PMO.
  • Set a positive example daily by providing guidance, thinking globally, bringing people together, and actively mentoring other team members.
  • Establish partnerships and improve processes to optimize Studio IT operations.
  • Manage sensitive cross-team engagements on subjects such as dependency alignment, schedule alignment, and managing expectations with internal and external customers.
  • Drive to improve a team's ability to self-organize and strive for high performance.
  • Adept at learning new topics and managing new technologies.
  • Ability to break down and drive highly complex projects into clear and achievable milestones.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of professional experience working in IT organizations, primarily in project or program management capacities.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable presenting and communicating to large groups and across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented, problem solver with excellent organization skills and a data-driven mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate alignment with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering projects within the Azure public cloud environments.
  • Experience driving technical teams, ideally in the IT domain, in a large distributed global organization to deliver solutions.
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational, complex enterprise programs or projects utilizing internal and vendor resources.
  • Experience with waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative, ability to work in a dynamic work environment with self-learning abilities.
  • Ability to work with offshore and regional teams in varying time zones, as required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Pluses:
  • Working knowledge of Production IT Infrastructure within the gaming industry.
  • General understanding of networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with vendor and contract management processes.
  • Program management or related IT certification(s).
  • Experience with the Atlassian product suite (Jira and Confluence) for task tracking, dashboarding, and collaboration.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
