Principle IoT/Edge Engineer (Finance)
We are hiring Principle IoT/Edge Engineer!!
This position can work remotely, but must be willing to come into any of our facilities as needed.
The Principal IoT/Edge Engineer role will assist the Director of Product Development in building the plans, team, products, and processes that aim to support clinicians and protect patients. The products to be defined, developed, launched, and supported will monitor hospital patient movements and alert clinicians when a patient with a potential risk of falling is mobilizing.
This role can architectural definition of our intelligent edge platform, partnering with our hardware, cloud,and IT teams to deliver a resilient, scalable product ecosystem. This role requires systems thinking, the ability to balance technical, environmental, industry, and business constraints.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Owns all design and development aspects of device-to-cloud connectivity and security, including embedded firmware, device connectivity, networking, and data transmission.Leads system architecture definition and technology tradeoff analyses to select the optimal tech stack for our connected platform.Translates user and stakeholder needs into conceptual product ideas, and technical requirements-- system- and sub-system levels.Optimizes designs (performance, efficiency, scale) for power, cost, data flow and fidelity, supportability, and usability in a resource-constrained edge environment.Leads and supports iterative design cycles with hands-on dev kit prototyping, breadboarding, coding, and testing.Collaborates closely with software, hardware, and product management peers to build scalable, integrated systems.Establishes vendor relationships and helps shape a growing engineering team.Design and develop IOT Edge applications including creating software that runs on edge devices to collect, process and analyze data.Integrate with IoT platform and cloud platformsImplement and ensure that IoT Edge systems are secure,Thoroughly testing IoT Edge deployments and troubleshooting issues to ensure reliable and scalable performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years experience architecting and designing IoT/Edge or connected devices using IoT services (AWS, Azure, Google) and IoT component SDKs.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant field.Experience designing systems for OTA updates and rollback strategies in real-world deployments.Experience designing products for regulated industries (e.g.: medical devices, automotive, defense, etc.).Deep understanding of edge-to-cloud messaging protocols like MQTT and encrypted data exchange between devices and cloud systems.Proven OOD programming experience relevant to IoT systems (e.g.: Python, C/C++, Go, Rust, or Java)Comfortable in ambiguityyou enjoy building the blueprint, not just following it.Effective at working across disciplines (hardware, embedded, software) and mentoring junior engineers to raise the technical bar in our products and experiences.Able to operate independently but are eager to work side-by-side with others to build something great from scratch.

Estimated starting annual base salary pay ranges is $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 less applicable withholdings and deductions, paid on a bi-weekly basis. Please note that the actual compensation offered may vary based on relevant factors as determined by the Company, which may include, but is not limited to, location, experience, qualifications, education, skillset, and market conditions. The target base compensation for this role is in the low to middle of the range, with the top of the range reserved for only exceptional circumstances.
