Panel Shop Supervisor (Finance)



Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing Production and its employees to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas. Provides leadership and sets the example for others to follow with the Clayton Controls Code of Ethics, which includes following company policies, standards, and specifications.

This is a hands-on position that will require the building of Industrial Control Panels while overseeing panel builders.

Tasks/Responsibilities(To include, but not limited to)

  • Ensure proper procedures are in place and being adhered to for production efficiency, quality of product and employee safety
  • Ensures inspection of finished products to verify conformance to specifications and standards
  • Coordinates production schedules with CES Operations Manager to establish requirements for completion of job assignments
  • Evaluates and advises on needs (staffing, tooling, etc.) in production for daily assignment of duties; establishes or adjusts staff/resources to meet production schedules
  • Make recommendations to CES Management improvements to production methods, equipment performance and quality of product
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
  • Ensure everyone is to work timely that is properly documented and has scheduled work to perform for employees prior to arrival
  • Provide for the supervision of daily activities assigned to employees to execute production schedule as determined by production planning
  • Trains and instructs employees regarding production and equipment standards and processes
  • Oversees final inspection of the mechanical assemblies.
  • Process paperwork for outgoing jobs to conform to ISO standards

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Build and improves processes and procedures
  • Supervises a team and has strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Communicates effectively (both written and verbal) with customers and colleagues.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker, adaptable, positive
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certified forklift operator a must

Preferred Experience/Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • College degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of customer service experience is preferred
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is required
  • Familiarity with UL508A and NFPA-70 preferred

Environmental/ Physical Requirements

Manufacturing/Non-Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or in a warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each workday doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.#claytoncontrols
