Grant Writer, Center for PAInT (Finance)



The Grant Writer supports the USF PAInT Center by preparing new and continuation grant applications across diverse funding sources, including federal agencies, non-profit organizations, foundations, and internal university programs. Key functions include conducting comprehensive research on funding opportunities, gathering necessary documentation, performing substantive editing of scientific proposals and manuscripts, and coordinating with stakeholders to meet
submission deadlines and requirements.

Senate Bill 1004.344 The Florida Center for the Partnerships for Arts Integrated Teaching.

(1) The Florida Center for the Partnerships for Arts Integrated Teaching is created within the University of South Florida Sarasota/Manatee.

(2) The goals of the center are to:

(a) Conduct basic and applied research on policies and practices related to arts integrated teaching.

(b) Partner with interested Florida College System institutions and private educational institutions to conduct arts integrated educational research.

(c) Seek out agreements to provide technical assistance and support, upon request, to the Florida Department of Education, Florida school districts, private schools, charter schools, and educator preparation programs in the implementation of evidence-based arts integrated

instruction, assessments, programs, and professional development.

(d) Collaborate with interested arts organizations and Florida school districts in the development of frameworks for arts integrated courses for use in schools.

(e) Collaborate with interested arts organizations and Florida school districts in the development of frameworks for professional development activities, using multiple delivery methods for arts integrated teaching in different content areas.

(f) Disseminate information about outcome-based practices related to arts integrated instruction, assessment, curricula, and programs.

(g) Position Florida as a national leader in arts integrated teaching and research.

(h) Examine arts integrated teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) educational courses.Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in developing or writing proposals to federal, state, or private funding agencies or 7 years of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

Grant Identification & Research - Identify and evaluate potential funding sources, analyzing grant requirements and eligibility criteria to match organizational research priorities.

Proposal Development & Writing - Lead the creation of comprehensive grant proposals, including narrative development, budget preparation, and coordination of supporting documentation. Provide expert writing, editing, proofreading, and formatting services for peer review submissions

Stakeholder Collaboration & Advisory Services - Work closely with research teams, principal investigators, center directors, and organizational leadership to gather project information, provide strategic guidance, and ensure proposal alignment with institutional goals.

Application Management - Oversee the complete grant submission process, ensuring compliance with funder requirements, deadlines, and formatting specifications.

Budget Analysis & Planning - Develop detailed project budgets, conduct cost analysis, and provide financial planning support for proposed research initiatives.

Grant Portfolio Maintenance - Track application status, maintain grant databases, and prepare progress reports for active awards Editorial Support - Provide substantive editing and review services for scientific research proposals, manuscripts, and other written products as needed.

Additional Responsibilities - Perform related duties and special projects as assigned to support the center's research funding objectives Arts-Integration Center Project Activities: Support the Center's research mission by contributing to scholarly publications and peer-reviewed journal submissions in education, arts education, and interdisciplinary studies. This role involves developing content for academic publications, assisting with manuscript preparation, and supporting the dissemination of research findings that emphasize replicable methodologies and scalable implementation strategies.
