Lineworker - Journey Level (Finance)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Installation, removal and maintenance of electrical lines, equipment and fiber optic cable.
  • Coordinates line work activities with various departments, contractors and the general public.
  • Restores electrical service by trouble shooting electrical lines and equipment.
  • Minimizes outage duration by effectively diagnosing problems and planning/implementing restoration activities.
  • Maintains continuity and reliability of service through technical proficiency in work procedures and detection/repair of defective equipment encountered in daily activities.
  • Compliance with MP safety rules and applicable federal/state laws/regulations.
  • Initiates proper documentation to record operations activities for legal, historical and administrative purposes.
  • Required to work effectively and courteously with and around the public at all times regardless of conditions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to develop and maintain positive working relationships.

EDUCATION:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Journey Level - Four years or more direct experience as a lineworker.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position will report regularly in person to Eveleth, MN.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and valid Medical Certificate.
  • This position is subject to Federal DOT FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Act) regulations.
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
