A Brief Overview

The ESG and Environmental Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the organization's adherence to environmental regulations, sustainability initiatives, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. This role involves developing and managing environmental compliance programs, tracking regulatory changes, and driving initiatives to reduce the company's environmental impact. The manager will lead ESG reporting efforts, promote sustainability practices across the organization, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and industry standards. They will also serve as a key resource for training, development, and external stakeholder engagement on environmental and ESG matters.

What you will do

  • Ensure company-wide compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations (e.g., air, water, waste, hazardous materials). Monitor and maintain accurate environmental permits, reports, and records. Conduct environmental audits and assessments, identifying areas of risk and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and track ESG programs aligned with corporate sustainability goals. Collect and analyze data to produce annual ESG reports, ensuring transparency and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate ESG principles into business strategies and operations.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce environmental impact, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and carbon footprint minimization. Drive sustainability practices across the organization, including sourcing, operations, and product lifecycle management. Act as a liaison with external organizations and regulatory bodies regarding environmental and ESG matters.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on environmental compliance, sustainability practices, and ESG initiatives for all staff. Stay current with industry best practices, legal requirements, and emerging trends in ESG and environmental compliance.
  • Lead or participate in special projects related to ESG or environmental compliance.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including auditors, regulatory bodies, and community organizations, to maintain a positive corporate image.
  • Provide support for corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader ESG goals.
  • Some duties may vary slightly by location.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or related field. (Preferred)


Experience Qualifications

  • 4-6 years in environmental compliance, sustainability, or ESG management in a corporate setting. (Preferred)
  • 4-6 years proven experience in managing environmental compliance programs, conducting audits, and preparing regulatory reports. (Preferred)


Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive understanding of environmental regulations, compliance standards, and permitting processes. (High proficiency)
  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks, sustainability reporting, and industry benchmarks. (High proficiency)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, training, and stakeholder engagement. (High proficiency)
  • Ability to analyze complex environmental data, generate reports, and develop actionable insights. (Medium proficiency)
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. (Medium proficiency)


Licenses and Certifications

  • ESG (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001) and Environmental Compliance (Preferred)
