Open Rank Faculty- Center for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) (Finance)



The Center for Regenerative Medicine (CRM) and USF Health Heart Institute operated under the auspices of the Morsani College of Medicine at USF, is inviting excellent candidates for a collaborative track faculty position at the rank of ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, or FULL PROFESSOR.

We are interested in investigators who work on themes of cardiovascular biology and medicine, particularly heart development, cardiac regeneration, cardiovascular disease, and stem cell therapies. Qualified candidates will also have extensive research experience (more than 10 years) in molecular biology, cell biology, and animal models for vascular and cardiac diseases. They are also expected to have already established, or have the potential to establish, a nationally recognized, competitively funded research program; therefore, current or previous evidence of NIH funding would be a considerable asset. Successful candidates will be offered salary support commensurate with experience and highly competitive start-up packages that promote success. Based on qualifications, the home department may be Internal Medicine or other relevant department at USF.

The USF Center for Regenerative Medicine is a part of the USF Health Heart Institute and its members collaborate widely with faculty from other USF colleges including Engineering, Arts and Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and the Moffitt Comprehensive Cancer Center. The USF Center for Regenerative Medicine is located in a new state-of-the-art facility, housing multiple floors of clinical and laboratory space, state-of-the-art equipment, and outstanding core facilities including a vivarium fully outfitted for small animal husbandry and zebrafish.

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.Working at USF

  • RESEARCH - Perform basic and translational research related to heart disease and prepare manuscripts for publication. They will seek funding for their research through the preparation of grants.

  • TEACHING-Provide bench level instruction for technicians, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and other trainees in the lab.
