CAD Specialist - Glen Allen, VA (Hybrid) (Finance)

Tetra Tech's National Energy Practice is continuing to grow. We are adding a CAD Specialist to support a variety of energy projects from concept to completion in a collaborative consulting environment. This position will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists working across multiple disciplines and offices. The ability to coordinate, communicate, and complete deliverables efficiently will be critical to success.

Your Role:

  • Prepare complete CAD documents, including plans, sections, and detailed drawings.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with engineers and designers across disciplines (civil, structural, electrical).
  • Ensure compliance with company and client CAD standards and styles.
  • Consult with clients and design/construction teams to review specifications and requirements.
  • Proof, review, and revise drawings for accuracy and potential errors.
  • Present design drafts to clients and team members for assessment and feedback.
  • Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software, with a focus on AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Meet regularly with engineers, draftsmen, and designers to review and update design documents.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff in Civil 3D features.
  • Lead production staff to complete deliverables on time and within project scope.
  • Support project/task management activities as needed.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field a plus).
  • 10-15 years of experience preparing documents for land development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong proficiency in creating surfaces, profiles, pipe networks, and corridors in Civil 3D.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and train staff in Civil 3D workflows.
  • Experience managing project tasks and production deliverables.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
