EP SR Engineering CAD Technician (Healthcare)

 What You'll Get to Do

The Senior CAD Technician is focused on developing shop-drawing plans, elevations, wall sections and details for architectural aluminum products, from estimate take-off, project specifications, architectural and structural drawings while meeting required schedule dates and reports to the Engineering Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who is focused, detail-oriented, self-driven and a team player.  A vital member of the Engineering Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Generate and review engineering documentation (proposal drawings, shop drawings, bills of materials, fabrication drawings, etc.) utilizing extensive industry knowledge to ensure accuracy when compared to contract documents, to confirm proper product application, to meet required schedule end-dates, and to assist in training of other technicians within the department.
  • Develop shop-drawing plans, elevations, wall sections and details for architectural aluminum products, from estimate take-off, project specifications, architectural and structural drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Inventor
  • Revise drawings as required, per red line mark ups and written directions
  • Generate fabrication drawings from approved shop drawings and parameters
  • Generate material take-offs as instructed and develop appropriate orders
  • Complete all paperwork necessary to fabricate all systems on project

What We Are Looking For

  • Five (5) years of work experience in the Glazing, Construction or a related field is required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to grasp spatial concepts
  • Excellent math skills (geometry and trigonometry)
  • Must be capable of reading architectural plans and structural drawings
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, schedule-driven department
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; knowledge of Parametric Software (such as Revit, Inventor, Solidworks) and Microsoft Excel is preferred
  • Must be comfortable interacting and collaborating with all levels of office and plant employees on an on-going basis.
