Job Summary
The Training Technician is accountable for the administration of site specific training, safety-related training, task training, and skills development training at both Luminant power plant and mine facilities. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to updating training files, working with federal agencies (MSHA and OSHA) and assisting other Luminant support functions as required.Job Description
•Coordinate training activities for assigned site to include site-specific training, contractor training, new employee training, annual refresher training, electrical refresher training, supervisor surface certification training, special needs training (scaffolding, safety harness, rigging, special emphasis), and other training as required by regulation or to meet site needs.
•Provide basic to immediate skills training to mine and/or plant employees on equipment.
•Assist instructors as needed to prepare and deliver training materials.
•Coordinate task training SME's for various equipment to ensure quality training, proper documentation and running evaluation of task training guidelines.
•Update and maintain training files and electronic databases.
•Support development of safety training programs as needed.
•Participate in special projects and committee assignments as needed.
•Assist with site regulatory inspections (e.g. MSHA, TNRCC, OSHA, etc.) as needed.
•Two years related training experience.
•Three years power plant/mining experience
•OSHA/MSHA certified Instructor Certification (specific to location OSHA for Plant locations and MSHA for mining locations) preferred.
•Understanding of the operation of plant/mine equipment
•Strong presentation and organizational skills.
•Strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
•Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite programs and others as applicable.)
•Minimum education is HS Diploma or GED equivalency
