Jan-San Technician (Maintenance)

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for installing, diagnosing problems, providing preventative maintenance and repairing Jan San equipment in the service shop or on-site. Build and maintain relationships with customers with timely and friendly service.

This is not a technology position, this is a maintenance and equipment repair position.

               

POSITION EXPECTATIONS

• Handle installation and upkeep of all janitorial related equipment, dispensers or service related items.
• Diagnose problems and come up with solutions to repair them.
• Can accurately identify parts that will be needed to repair equipment.
• Plans daily route based on customer location.
• Prepare and load outgoing repaired equipment, repair parts, dispensers or any needed materials to complete and installation or repair.
• Coordinates installation if needed with TSRC Sales and the customer. Educating customers on how to use and maintain their equipment.
• Explain issues with equipment and repairs to customers.
• Plan and execute setup of equipment on location in a manner that meets with TSRC install guidelines and the customer's needs.
• Perform the required service and update all concerned parties when the problem is resolved.
• Documents detailed reports and keeps records on service that has been performed.

• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
• Understands all company safety guidelines and protocols outlined in the Safety Handbook.  
• Follows up on vehicle maintenance and inspections according to federal, state and company guidelines. Monitors personal GEO Tab statistics behavior and maintains safety compliance standards. Fully understands all company safety protocols.
• Maintains a safe and clean vehicle and working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Meets company standards for attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.

               

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• This is not a supervisory position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Ability to install, repair, service, test and troubleshoot equipment.
• Must be able to read blueprints and diagrams.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to exchange information with other.
• Ability to understand and follow direction.
• Can work independently.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment.
• Be able to prioritize duties to meet daily company standards.
• Focused on detail oriented tasks.

Education, Certifications and /or Licenses:

• Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• High School Diploma preferred.

Experience:

• 3 year's prior equipment service experience in a customer facing role is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to do the following:

• Ascending/descending ladders, stairs and ramps.
• Perform activities such as balance, bend/stoop, crouch, kneel, push/pull, reach, squat.
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs unassisted.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Operating machinery and/or power tools.
• Operating motor vehicles or standard warehouse material handling equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

               

While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works in a fast-paced, noisy, non-temperature controlled environment, varying between internal warehouse environments, delivery vehicles, outdoors, and internal/external customer locations.
