Operational Excellence Manager (Maintenance)



What You Will Do

As the Operational Excellence Manager, you will transform Clarios Manufacturing's results by applying lean principles. Specifically, you will serve as a facilitator, educator, advocate, consultant, and accountability partner to support staff team members in Operations, Engineering, and Functional Groups.

How You Will Do It

  • Developing & Driving Operational Excellence strategy roadmaps to ensure execution.
  • Conducting training and education regarding CI tools and methodologies.
  • Accountable for the execution and savings annual target for the Fiscal Year of the plants under its responsibility.
  • Establish KPI baselines and share best practices throughout the region.
  • Identifies gaps in Best Business Practice Metrics, develops and executes improvement plans and strategies. Assesses the current state of plant operations.
  • Develops a plant vision and drives the development of roadmaps to ensure vision execution.
  • Facilitates and drives improvement teams or works in cooperation with the OEX Manager to implement improvement plans. Assists process owners to identify barriers to project success.
  • Document improvement process learning and facilitate the sharing of best practices with other OEX Leaders and with the OEX Managers
  • Promotes the utilization of DMAIC methodologies as well as any other problem-solving methodologies where applicable.
  • Accountable for assisting teams to capture financial savings resulting from performance-based improvements.
  • Champions change management and assists plant manager in delivering strategic/operational excellence initiatives that will aid in compliance with standards or the implementation of new products, processes or other cost-effective solutions that will continuously improve the performance of the plants.
  • Develop a data-analytics roadmap 4.0 that prepares further opportunities to move from pure data analytics to process predictions and the implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and traceability programs and other alfa / beta initiatives (i.e., HPT – High Performance Teams)
  • Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports teaming with the appropriate matrix functional manager. Ensures a consistent level of coaching.

What We Look For

  • You must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years as a leader in a mature lean organization.
  • At least 5 years of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong interest in Industry 4.0 topics (e.g., augmented reality, IoT, data mining) 
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and transform results and processes by applying Lean techniques
