Job Description
Primary Function of Position

The Sr. Sourcing Manager, Global Logistics will work within Indirect Procurement and serve as an expert in global logistics procurement - including air freight, ocean shipping, and overland transportation - to lead category strategy, supplier engagement, and cost optimization efforts. This role will report to the Global Category Leader, Product Operations and provide a significant contribution to Intuitive's global delivery network as well as product development and manufacturing as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management and a demonstrated ability to navigate complex global supply chains, build category strategies, negotiate with suppliers, and collaborate cross-functionally with Iniuitive's logistics, quality, regulatory, legal, manufacturing, finance & business teams to deliver impactful outcomes.

Essential Job Duties

  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with logistics suppliers to foster collaboration, trust, and mutual success.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers related to performance and strategic initiatives.
    • Drive supplier performance through business reviews, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Partner with suppliers to identify external innovation opportunities that optimize supply chain processes and enhance overall performance.
  • Strategic Sourcing:
    • Lead end-to-end RFP/RFI/RFQ processes, contract negotiations, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
    • Analyze spend patterns, conduct market analysis and supplier assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and innovation.
    • Lead cross-functional teams of senior leaders to develop category strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
    • Develop and optimize buying channels, considering P2P (Procure to Pay) requirements.
  • Category Management:
    • Develop and implement strategic sourcing and category management plans for logistics (air, sea, and land transportation).
    • Conduct market intelligence, supply chain risk assessments, and spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and strategic partnerships.
    • Create multi-year category roadmaps that align with business needs, risk profiles, and sustainability objectives.
    • Define meaningful KPIs to measure the health of the spend category.
  • Contract Management:
    • Independently negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
    • Monitor contract performance, terms, and conditions, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
    • Identify opportunities for contract optimization, renegotiation, or consolidation to drive cost efficiencies and mitigate risks.
    • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions, focusing on long-term level agreements, quality standards, and volume discounts while minimizing risk to the company.
  • Opportunity for Broader Scope
    • Support additional categories (e.g., packaging, MRO, warehousing, indirect services) as business needs evolve.
    • Contribute to enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives, supplier diversity programs, and digital procurement transformation projects.
  • Qualifications
    Required Skills and Experience

    Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Logistics, or related field.
    • 12+ years' experience with 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or logistics management, preferably in a global or complex organization.
    • Proven experience managing transportation categories (air, sea, land).
    • Superior negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
    • Proficiency in procurement tools (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, GEP, etc.) and Excel/data analysis.

    Preferred:
    • Experience with 3PL/4PL management and transportation compliance.
    • Exposure to sustainability and ESG requirements in logistics sourcing.
    • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP, CIPS) a plus.
    • Experience in regulated environments/industries.

    We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

    Base Salary Range Region 1: $159.700 USD - $229.900 USD
    Base Salary Range Region 2: $135.800 USD - $195.400 USD
